BLIS K12: Published in the National Library of Medicine: study found 23 subjects suffering with halitosis were put through 3 days of testing with the K12 strain. After a week, the subjects’ volatile sulphur compound – the unpleasant bad breath smell – showed a reduction of 85%.
Lactobacillus Reuteri: Published in Science Direct, 20 participants with pathologic halitosis tested for 2 weeks. They found a reduction in gum bleeding upon probing, reduced gum pocket depths and decreasing the bad breath pathogens.
Lactobacillus Brevis: Published in the University of L’Aquila, Italy, found that taking a supplement with Lactobacillus brevis helped treat gum disease and gum inflammation.
Lactobacillus brevis may also help protect teeth by making them more resistant to enamel demineralisation. It has also shown potential for aiding in the remineralisation process, helping to restore minerals to the enamel, which can prevent early tooth decay.
Lactobacillus Paracasei: Cited in Dentistry Journal, a study on 122 children over a period of 12 months found L. Paracasei had a significant reduction of cavity causing bacterium notorious for tooth decay and plaque.
